I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and the New Year has begun well for you. We all know the new year is the prime time to make new resolutions and commitments about the things in life we want to change. We also all know that three weeks into the new year many of these resolutions have fallen by the way side. If you are still going strong on a healthier, better you, congratulations that is great. But you are probably in the minority. If you haven’t managed to stick to those well-laid plans, despite your best efforts, do you wonder why?
It is a very common thing that we commit to a healthier habit with the best of intentions. We fire up the willpower and make a change that ultimately leads to some type of improvement. But, at some point in this process, we lose our motivation and start to fall back into old habits. Before long (generally 2-4 weeks) the change is a distant memory. I’m sure we’ve all been through this at some stage.
There are many reasons put forward as to why we do this. But the one that makes the most sense is REASON. Give someone a good enough reason and they’ll do anything. Effectively, this REASON is what you are telling yourself about WHY you should change a behaviour. If you make the reason for a change about something bigger and something more important then you are more likely to stick to it. Equally, and even more importantly, people often start to add up reasons why it is okay to stop the change process. When your reasons (or excuses) for not changing become bigger than your original reason to change then you are back doing what you always did.So, to make any change stick, come up with a compelling reason to change that motivates or inspires you and then stay focussed on this reason. And cut out any mind chatter that diminishes this reason or gives you excuses to not follow through. Finding a big enough reason is key to making any meaningful change in your life.
Just a reminder we are open every day from 7am until midnight, including weekends and AustraliaDay. We always have a pharmacist on duty to speak with in person or over the phone. We also have a security guard on duty at the front of the store every night to help make people feel secure parking outside the pharmacy after dark.
2017 Prescription Prices
The federal government has increased prescription prices for 2017. The pensioner and veteran and concession price will be $6.30 per script (a 10c price rise). The non-pension script price will be maximum of $38.80 (a 50c price rise). As always, we offer a price match guarantee.
